Definitely border collie X. This sweetie was found with a litter in Churchill last October. She is now about 7 months and full of p*** and vinegar!

30 pounds to go and I want some chocolate!
Just got news yesterday of my high school's class of '80 reunion/get together. So now you know how old I am...but that is not the point...I have gotten very fat since high school.
Yes I know many of my former classmates will not have retained their youthful looks and figures, but my vanity has normally kept me away from these sort of encounters with those that knew the "me" of long ago. This year is different. Newly single..sigh..and wanting to find something that will make me feel like my old self again..I am looking toward old friends, those who knew me when I was young, beautiful and THIN! (curvy, but not FAT)
20 years of fretting and chiding myself for gaining so much weight, has not been enough to light a fire under my butt...that would have to be a roaring blaze by the way...to get moving and actually do something about it.
So today is day one...with 99 more to go. I am going to blog about my progress (hopefully) and how I am moving toward my old self..though much older and wiser and greyer and wrinklier...well you get the point.

cuban lunch
I have been thinking a lot about a CUBAN LUNCH; a hugh rectangular chunk of chocolate and peanuts....that I know is not easy to come by these days.
After googling "cuban lunch chocolate paulin's", I came across this wonderful weblog at ruk.ca and 3 pages of 40-something's reminiscing about candy bars, penny candy and "the good old days". Most of them were Canadian as this weblog is from a Prince Islander and quite entertaining to read if you delve into the threads.
Now I want Black Cat bubble gum and licorice babies and pic-a-pop...along with my cuban lunch. And the chance to travel down memory lane...though I will have walk quickly ....must work all those candy calories off somehow!
